There are many things you will want to achieve in life. The aspirations you have ARE possible and I am proud of you for dreaming BIG.
The things we want to become are a byproduct of what we put ourselves through and what we can endure. I want to give a short story that represents a conversation between you and God that you had before you were born. Remember, it is your responsibility to use the gifts and abilities you have been gifted with: Walking, talking, lifting weights, choosing right from wrong, etc. Don’t overlook the most beautiful things in life. After reading the story below I hope that you can see that it IS the hard times to be thankful for, as who you want to be is on the other side of the hard thing.
Imagine talking to God before birth and you get to choose the person you want to become.
You tell God: I want to be very courageous.
God responds: Then I will give you monsters to terrify you so you can conquer them.
You say: I also want to be patient
God says: I will make you work harder and longer so you can learn to wait to reap your rewards.
You say: Well God, I also want to be wise.
God replies: Then I will give you failures that will crush your spirit so you can learn the value of judgement.
After understanding all of this, the answers you have been given do not sit well with you. You then say: Well God, this all sounds like a rough life! Could you give me a good life?
God responds: Just like we measure the quality of a blacksmith by the strength of his steel, I measure you by what you are at the end. Not the fire and the hammering it took to make you. A good life isn’t a life that is easy. A good life is a life that makes you into a good person and that my son, is a hard life.
When life is beating you down and things are hard – this is the time to be thankful. It is okay to feel the way you are feeling and to be experiencing what you are experiencing. Continue to talk with God daily and have conversations with him and he will remind you that there is a purpose for what you are going through AND that you asked for it 😉
God bless.
